Quick Tour of a Viking River Cruises Longship
Join us for this complete walk-through of all the public spaces aboard Viking River Cruises' custom longships. Viking's fleet of 55 longships is the largest river cruise fleet in the world. This quick tour was filmed aboard the Viking Ingvi, though all of Viking's river cruise ships are virtually identical - meaning any Viking river ship you might be traveling on will be nearly the same as this one.
River cruise ships are necessarily small, since they are designed to navigate narrow and shallow waterways as well as to fit through locks and under bridges. For this video, we wanted to show off how small and accessible Viking's longships are by giving a real-time walking tour of the entire ship. We start in our cabin on Deck 2 and then work through all the public spaces on Deck 2 (the Middle Deck with the atrium, Guest Services, Shop, and the Restaurant), Deck 3 (the Upper Deck with the Library, Internet Corner, Lounge, and Aquavit Terrace), and the Sun Deck. (FYI, Deck 1 is the "Main Deck" and mostly houses crew areas, with only a small number of water-level staterooms.) It only takes about 7 minutes to casually stroll through the entire ship!
We were sailing with Viking on the Danube River from Budapest, Hungary, to Passau, Germany, with stops in Slovakia and Austria. In future videos we'll provide a more comprehensive full ship tour and cabin tour, plus reviews of the dining, activities, excursions, and more.
